Reasons to be cheerful

It's been a while, but before catching up on all the things I want to blog about I thought I'd do a little list of things which are currently making me happy - I've always love Kat's happy lists on her blog here and so thought I'd do a mini compilation of my own.

* Memories of Cornwall.
We had our family holiday in Cornwall in the last week of the school holidays and it was just wonderful. We'd never been and enjoyed so many aspects of this so beautiful place, that turquoise sea! Oh! I'm going to try hard to put a photo album together so that we have it to look back on, the girls adore looking through photos but i just never get round to making them up.

* Being inspired by St.Ive's.
One of our favourite places in Cornwall was the Tate gallery.  The Patrick Heron exhibition was a dream of colour and I just loved it! It was fantastic for kids too with so many different things for them to do - they spent so much time in this room sticking brightly coloured vinyl stickers onto the wall, I would love to set up something like this up at home!

Barbera Hepworth's studio was also am amazing place to visit, the garden was wonderfully calming and also homed a friendly cat called Alan (true story!).

* My favourite summer dress!
I do love a cotton summer dress and this Dolly one from Monsoon is my absolute favourite which I have worn to death this summer (I'm still wearing it with tights and a cardi. It's midi length which is so flattering and perfectly practical for days with the girls as well as evenings out and about.

* These beautiful blooms c/o Appleyard flowers
This particular brightly coloured bunch won't fail to make you smile. I've dotted mine around the house in tiny vases for little pop's of happiness about the place.

* Early autumn sunshine
I mean how delicious is this light?! Here it is in our lounge after a good old tidy up the other day. I can't wait to start putting out mini pumkins and other autumn treasures.

*Tassels
Who doesn't love a tassel?! I made these on a whim the other day and they're the perfect way to tie in the colours in your room and so therapeutic to make - I'll do a DIY post soon.

*Charity Shop Finds
I've always wanted a telephone seat and so jumped at this one in my local charity shop for £3.50! A light sanding and a little reupholstering of the seat with some beautiful oilcloth from Miss Print and voila! I absolutely love it, and I love how much difference it makes to the room.

* Delilah's outfit here
I mean dungarees and a headscarf, too cute!

So a very brief list of happy but a lovely one all the same. I might start to do this regularly, I hope you are also having the loveliest of weeks!
