There is nothing I like more in the autumn then coming in from a windy walk and indulging in a hot tea with a wedge of cake. This cinnamon cake is light as a feather and super comforting in these colder months. The recipe also happens to be really simple with few ingredients, so its easy to whip one up for last minute for guests or cake hungry tummies!

So, my sister's wedding was nearly a whole month ago now. I'm not sure I could write up a post which would do such a lovely day justice really, so I'll just stick to explaining a few photos. I didn't actually take that many what with being so involved in the whole day - I'm itching to see the official ones! But also I do sometimes think that the adage is true that when you're having a really good time you don't stop to take pictures.

A couple of weeks ago we finally said goodbye to our beloved preschool and to having a child at home most of the time. Of course, because of the summer holidays not much has changed yet, but it's still been a hugely emotional time. It sounds dramatic writing it down, but I really feel like we've all felt the change and emotions in different ways.

So its almost the end of June and I'm just getting round to posting my Me and Mine May picture - life eh? This was the most glorious of days, coincidently our 8 year wedding anniversay (I really don't feel old enough! Although my wrinkly laughter lines say otherwise!) when we found the most beautiful rapeseed field not far from where we live.

I think I've mentioned before that I'm making my sister's wedding cake for her wedding in October, I've been furiously pinning away (you can check out my board here), but sometimes having an actual thing to hold, read and inspire is just the thing and 'The Handmade Wedding Cake' by Natasha Collins is just the thing.

In the last couple of years various blogs have celebrated May Day by making May Day posies to give out on the day (I think I was first inspired by Seeds and Stitches and the Little Greenshed). We've done it for the last couple of years and it's such a beautiful way to celebrate the time of year, and a lovely way to get childten making and thinking about the seasons.
